With the release of Ultimas 1-3 and Ultima 4 on Good Old Games, Ultima Aiera published an article containing information about patching and updating those Ultima titles that have been re-released for sale thus far. Ultima fan Pix (whose repositories of scans of Ultima documentation are really worth checking out, by the way) took it upon himself to collect all of the various patches and updates discussed in that article into a single, easier-to-use application.
The utility should now cover all Ultima titles available on GOG, including the Underworld games and theUltima 7 box set.
Pix cautions that while the Patcher should work on clean installations from Good Old Games, installations that have been modified in any way already could cause strange results. It includes DPMI and other necessary files as well, so that the graphical upgrade patches for each game work properly.

Thanks for a welcome utility. I solved these games years ago. No since redoing all of the character levelling up.
Can someone tell me how to run a .rar file? Also I’ve downloaded Ultima Underworld from GOG so I’m not sure if the download comes with this patch pre-installed. Thanks
RAR files can be opened with WinRAR or 7-Zip. I personally recommend the latter, as it is free, and also opens you up to the vastly superior 7z compression format.
That said, I believe the GOG version of UW is already patched…to some degree. But Pix’s patcher still does something for it (I can’t recall just what, though).
Thamks for the prompt response. I’ve been getting the ‘error in object list’ message. Don’t know if you still get the message once it’s been patched but don’t actually lose objects. I’m on level 4/5 at the moment, which seems to be the problem area
